There are many different factors, causes and symptoms that can cause hair loss, some are more common than others. Male pattern baldness is the most common type of hair loss in the UK, with an estimated 6.5 million men being affected. In one month your hair typically grows an average of 1cm out of hair follicles which are located under the skin. A single scalp normally grows for 2 to 4 years and then stops. When this hair falls out, new hair grows out of the scalp and the cycle repeats.

Hair loss in men generally follows a set pattern, the first stage of male pattern baldness is a receding hairline, with hair thinning around the crown and the temples. As they meet in the middle a horseshoe is left, which could then lead to baldness. Some forms of hair loss are more common in men aged in their late 20's or early 30's. By the late 30's most men will be showing some signs of hair loss. Propecia tablets are available via a Prescription or by completing one of our Online Consultations. These tablets are designed to slow the effects of hair loss in men by increasing hair growth and preventing further hair loss.
