High Risk Areas - substantial risk throughout the country with the exception of Vientiane you will require one of these antimalarials Malarone, Doxycycline or Lariam. However, if you are travelling around the border areas of Myanmar(Burma) and Thailand, there is resistance to Lariam and only Malarone or Doxycycline are advised.
Low to No Risk Areas - If solely staying in the capital Vientian
